a Country Park in the town of Burton Dassett, in the county of Warwickshire

About Burton Dassett Hills Country Park

This is a delightful country park covering almost 100 acres of rugged landscape full of rich and varied historical interest. The country park also encompasses Fox Covert, a small woodland with a well used smooth footpath.

The park affords the opportunity to explore a 12th century church dedicated to All Saints, the remains of an old quarry, a prominent beacon tower and much more. It has many viewpoints giving spectacular views of unspoilt Warwickshire countryside and is the perfect place to spend a rewarding, leisurely day out when you can enjoy eating "al fresco" in a lovely grassed picnic area.

Remains found on the park's landscape suggest that the site was derelict in 1321. Later the area was extensively quarried for its ironstone, and a small industrial railway remained at Burton Dassett until 1921.

Burton Dassett Hills was created as a country park in 1971 and is in the care of Warwickshire County Council.
